A Collection of Public Artwork Around Carrollton

Welcome to the Carrollton City Hall, where a stunning and vibrant art installation adorns the stairwell. Titled “Celebration,” this captivating piece of art was completed in May 1987, shortly after the construction of City Hall was finalized. Designed by renowned Dallas artist Heather Marcus in collaboration with Baldwin Sheet Metal, the aluminum sculpture weighs 400 pounds and hangs gracefully from the ceiling, visible from both the first and second floors. The name “Celebration” perfectly captures the essence of this artwork, resembling a burst of colorful fireworks frozen in time. Today, Heather Marcus resides in New York City, where she now excels as a portrait artist, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the heart of Carrollton City Hall.
